My Work

My work is guided by these principles.

Leadership and Management Philosophy

I believe leadership is rooted in a strong set of values and principles that drive decisions. A leader and manager will take the time to listen, consider all options, review difficult decisions with peers, and demonstrate clear vision, honesty, integrity and trust. I do not believe in micromanagement but do believe in providing clear direction with measurable goals.

I believe trust is earned by developing a clear path for a team, project or department and then following through by delivering results that are in alignment with the goals of the organization’s mission and vision. When I assign a project or work to a person or team, I trust they have the skills required to deliver the task.

Do the right thing – even when difficult decisions need to be made, I do what is best for the organization and my team. I have a great degree of empathy and I always consider the impact that decision might have on someone’s workload, career or life in general.

Believe in my team – I will provide the tools, training and opportunities for a team to succeed. I believe it is important to challenge, but not set up for failure. It is important to develop career paths and self-growth plans that align with the organizations long-term growth.

Professionalism – I believe having a positive approach, a sincere understanding and a can-do attitude coupled with trust and delivery presents the opportunity to be seen as a professional – regardless of the profession. That is something I do my best to bring to any kind of work situation.

Respect – I will earn respect by showing gratitude, value and appreciation across all levels, from team members to cross-departments to Board of Directors. Give credit where credit is earned. Be reassuring that everyone has value and purpose.

Integrity – I follow my moral compass – being honest with myself and my team with consistent moral and ethical principles.

Dedication – I have always been known to be 100% dedicated at whatever I do. Believe in what you are doing. If you don’t believe in yourself, you are set up to fail. Whether it is me or the team or department I’m leading, I always assure that we are there till the end.

Excellence – I have always aspired to deliver the best I’m capable of. Achieving excellence is never easy, but staying dedicated and on task, learning from mistakes and absorbing sound advice, it can be done.
